Description

A delightful and simple recipe for homemade strawberry applesauce using fresh ingredients, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of apples
  • 1 pound of strawberries
  • 1/4 cup juice, cider, or water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chop the apples and strawberries, removing cores and stems, and cutting into roughly 1-inch pieces.
  2. Add the apples, strawberries, and juice or cider into the Instant Pot.
  3. Pressure Cook by securing the lid, closing the vent, and setting the Instant Pot to cook at high pressure for 8 minutes.
  4. Release steam by opening the vent for a quick release once the cooking time is up.
  5. Sweeten by stirring in brown sugar if desired.
  6. Puree the mixture using an immersion blender or standard blender for a smoother consistency, if preferred.

Notes

Taste as you go to adjust sweetness. Use fresh, ripe fruit for the best flavor, and feel free to experiment with other fruits such as pears or blueberries.
