Description

A comforting and nostalgic dish that blends ground beef, sautéed onions, and bell peppers in a flavorful sauce, served on hamburger buns.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer for about 10 minutes until heated through and flavors combine.
  5. Serve the sloppy joe mixture on hamburger buns.

Notes

Consider adding pickles or shredded cheese as a topping. Perfect with sides like coleslaw or potato chips.
