Description

A comforting plate of Homemade Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy featuring tender beef patties and rich mushroom gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into patties.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown the patties on both sides, then remove from the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir.
  4. Gradually add beef broth, stirring until the gravy thickens.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for about 15 minutes.
  6. Serve warm with gravy over the patties.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, consider substituting the beef with a plant-based ground alternative.
