Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times.
- Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick round and cut it into biscuits with a biscuit cutter.
- Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
Use chilled ingredients for better rise; brush with melted butter before baking for added richness.
