Description

Delicious and fluffy homemade flaky biscuits perfect for breakfast or as a side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times.
  6. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick round and cut it into biscuits with a biscuit cutter.
  7. Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

Use chilled ingredients for better rise; brush with melted butter before baking for added richness.
