Description
A delicious homemade doner kebab featuring marinated lamb or chicken, perfect for gatherings with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 1 kg of lamb or chicken, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pita bread or flatbread, for serving
- Fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers) for garnish
- Yogurt or tzatziki sauce for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Mix the olive oil, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Add the sliced meat and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Spread the marinated meat on a baking tray.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the meat is cooked through and slightly crispy on the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the meat in pita bread with fresh vegetables and a drizzle of yogurt or tzatziki sauce.
Notes
For even richer flavors, consider marinating the meat overnight. Flip the meat halfway through baking for even crispness.
