Description

A delicious homemade doner kebab featuring marinated lamb or chicken, perfect for gatherings with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of lamb or chicken, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread or flatbread, for serving
  • Fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers) for garnish
  • Yogurt or tzatziki sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Mix the olive oil, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Add the sliced meat and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Spread the marinated meat on a baking tray.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the meat is cooked through and slightly crispy on the edges.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
  7. Serve the meat in pita bread with fresh vegetables and a drizzle of yogurt or tzatziki sauce.

Notes

For even richer flavors, consider marinating the meat overnight. Flip the meat halfway through baking for even crispness.
