Ingredients

  • – 2 large eggs
  • – 1/2 cup (100g) white sugar
  • – 1/2 cup (114g) melted beef butter or neutral oil
  • – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • – 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • – 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • – 1 1/2 cups (188g) all-purpose flour
  • – 2 apples, good for baking apples include: Pink Lady, Gala, Honeycrisp, peeled and chopped
  • – 1/2 cup (110g) packed brown sugar
  • – 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Coat an 8-inch loaf pan with butter or spray, then set it aside.
  2. Combine the swirl ingredients in a separate bowl and keep them aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with the white sugar. Pour in the melted beef butter or oil and mix well.
  4. Add the vanilla, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the egg mixture. Stir until everything is well incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour until the batter is smooth.
  6. Gently fold the chopped apples into the batter.
  7. Pour half of the apple batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle three-quarters of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over this layer. Add the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle the rest of the swirl on top.
  8. Place the loaf in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden. Use a toothpick to check if it’s done; it should come out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing and serving.
