Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup oil for frying
- 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Nutella (for filling)
Instructions
- Begin by heating the water, sugar, salt, and butter in a saucepan until boiling.
- Once boiling, add the flour and stir until a dough forms.
- Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until the dough becomes smooth.
- Preheat the oil in a deep pan or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Use a piping bag to pipe small circles of dough into the hot oil.
- Fry the churro bites until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove them and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
- Roll the churro bites in the sugar mixture for a sweet coating.
- Finally, fill each churro bite with Nutella using a piping bag or squeeze bottle.
- Serve them warm and enjoy!
Notes
Churros are best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for a day or two. Reheat in an oven to restore crispness.
