Description

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Zest of one lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a preheated skillet, add butter and let it melt.
  3. Once the butter bubbles, carefully place the chicken in the skillet. Sear for about 5-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  4. Flip the chicken and pour in lemon juice and zest. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, basting the chicken with the sauce as it cooks.
  5. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Remove from heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use chicken breasts of similar thickness and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
