Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Zest of one lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a preheated skillet, add butter and let it melt.
- Once the butter bubbles, carefully place the chicken in the skillet. Sear for about 5-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- Flip the chicken and pour in lemon juice and zest. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, basting the chicken with the sauce as it cooks.
- Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Remove from heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
