Description
This Healthy Chocolate Banana Bread combines ripe bananas, cocoa powder, and almond flour for a delicious and nutritious treat.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce
- 1 cup of almond flour
- 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add the applesauce and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until fully combined.
- If using, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips at this stage.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
For added moisture, consider adding a tablespoon of coconut oil to the mix. Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing for cleaner cuts.
