Ingredients

  • 6 sweet apples
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) vegetable oil
  • 160 g (2/3 cup) oats
  • 85 g (2/3 cup) pecans
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) honey


Instructions

  1. Dice the apples and cook them in a skillet with the remaining ingredients over medium-high heat. Cover the skillet for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Set your oven to 180C/350F to preheat.
  3. Combine all the crumble elements in a food processor, adding a tablespoon of water, and blend until the mixture is crumbly and cohesive.
  4. Take a small baking dish, grease it or line it with parchment paper, and layer the apple mixture. Press the crumble mixture into larger chunks and scatter them over the apples.
  5. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the topping turns golden brown.
  6. Allow it to cool slightly and serve with milk or yogurt for breakfast, or pair with ice cream for a dessert treat.
