Description

Delicious healthy baked churro bites that combine whole wheat flour and coconut sugar, offering a nostalgic treat with a healthier twist.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (melted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, coconut sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix applesauce, almond milk, and melted coconut oil until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Scoop out small balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon for coating.
