Ingredients
- 4-5 ripe avocados
- 1 medium tomato (seeds removed)
- 1/2 small red onion
- 1 large jalapeño
- Juice from 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon fresh minced cilantro
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chipotle chili powder (add more for extra kick)
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a large mixing bowl.
- Mash the avocado using a fork or potato masher until you reach your desired consistency—smooth or chunky.
- Dice the tomato and finely chop the red onion and jalapeño, adjusting the heat level based on how much jalapeño you choose to include.
- Add the diced tomato, red onion, and jalapeño to the mashed avocado.
- Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture, sprinkle in the minced cilantro, cumin, chipotle chili powder, and salt.
- Gently fold everything together to mix well, ensuring that each bite is full of flavor. Adjust salt and spice to your liking.
Notes
To prevent browning, keep a layer of lime juice on top when storing leftovers.
