Description

A classic, creamy guacamole recipe that’s perfect for gatherings, made with ripe avocados, fresh lime juice, and spices.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 ripe avocados
  • 1 medium tomato (seeds removed)
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 1 large jalapeño
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon fresh minced cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chipotle chili powder (add more for extra kick)
  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocado using a fork or potato masher until you reach your desired consistency—smooth or chunky.
  3. Dice the tomato and finely chop the red onion and jalapeño, adjusting the heat level based on how much jalapeño you choose to include.
  4. Add the diced tomato, red onion, and jalapeño to the mashed avocado.
  5. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture, sprinkle in the minced cilantro, cumin, chipotle chili powder, and salt.
  6. Gently fold everything together to mix well, ensuring that each bite is full of flavor. Adjust salt and spice to your liking.

Notes

To prevent browning, keep a layer of lime juice on top when storing leftovers.
