Description

A comforting dish of ground beef simmered with vegetables, topped with fluffy dumplings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in beef broth, mixed vegetables, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Add milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter onto the simmering beef mixture. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until dumplings are cooked through.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy your comfort meal.

Notes

For perfect dumplings, mix the batter gently to avoid density. Adjust seasonings as preferred.
