Description

Learn how to make delicious gluten-free air fryer apple fritters with this easy recipe. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, a perfect treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups (222g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup (67g) granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons (42g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup (128g) unsweetened applesauce
  • ¼ cup (60ml) beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 large apple, peeled and diced
  • 1 ½ cups (180g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2-3 tablespoons (38 ml) orange juice

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon with a whisk. Put this mixture aside.
  2. In another bowl, blend the sugar with the melted butter. Add in the applesauce, beef broth, and vanilla extract, stirring well to mix.
  3. Incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture until blended. Gently fold in the diced apple pieces.
  4. Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. When ready, spoon batter portions of about ¼ cup into the basket, ensuring they are not too close together. Cook for 5-6 minutes. Apply the glaze while the fritters are still warm.
  5. In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar with orange juice. Generously drizzle this glaze over the warm fritters.

Notes

  • Consider using coconut oil as a substitute for unsalted butter for a healthier choice.
  • Enhance the texture and flavor by adding chopped nuts or dried fruit to the batter.
  • Adjust the glaze thickness by adding more powdered sugar to reach your desired consistency.
