Description
A rich and savory garlic butter steak recipe that’s perfect for special gatherings or a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3-4 cloves garlic (minced)
- Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Take the steaks out of the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your skillet over medium-high heat or prepare your grill.
- Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper, ensuring both sides are well-coated.
- In a separate bowl, combine the butter, minced garlic, and finely chopped herbs. Mix thoroughly and set aside.
- Add a tablespoon of oil to the skillet or directly place the steak on the grill.
- Cook the steak for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, add the garlic butter mixture to the skillet or on the steak if grilling. Allow the butter to melt and baste the steak with the flavorful mixture.
- Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Invest in a digital meat thermometer for accurate doneness and ensure to let the steak rest after cooking to maintain moisture.
