Ingredients
- 12 oz (340 g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
- 1 lb (450 g) boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 240 ml heavy cream
- 240 ml chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups (180 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (50 g) grated halal-friendly cheese
- 1 tsp (5 ml) Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) red pepper flakes, optional
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the bowtie pasta by following the instructions on the package until it reaches a firm yet tender texture. Drain the water and put it aside.
- Warm vegetable oil and olive oil in a big frying pan over medium heat. Sprinkle the chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then cook them until they are golden brown and fully done. Take them out and set them aside.
- In the same frying pan, cook the minced garlic until it releases its aroma.
- Add the chicken broth and heavy cream to the pan. Let it simmer until the mixture becomes slightly thicker.
- Mix in the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated halal-friendly cheese until they are fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Incorporate the Italian seasoning and, if desired, the red pepper flakes.
- Put the chicken and pasta back into the pan, stirring to cover everything well with the sauce.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top before serving.
