Description

Delicious Polish sauerkraut pancakes that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect as a snack or side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained and chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Combine the sauerkraut, flour, egg, milk, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until well mixed.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add vegetable oil.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the skillet and flatten slightly.
  4. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish or snack.

Notes

Adjust the sauerkraut amount for different levels of tanginess. Consider adding herbs or spices for extra flavor.
