Description

Learn how to make a delicious Fresh Tomato Caprese Salad with this easy recipe. Enjoy the perfect combination of tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (480 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 3 ripe tomatoes, sliced thick
  • 12 oz. (340 g) fresh beef cheese, sliced thick
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Vegetable oil, for drizzling
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, heat the balsamic vinegar over medium-low flame until it starts to boil. Let it simmer until it thickens into a glaze, which should take between 10 to 20 minutes. Once thickened, take it off the heat and pour it into a bowl or small container. Let it cool down.
  2. When it’s time to serve, lay out the tomato and mozzarella slices on a serving dish. Position the basil leaves among the slices. Lightly drizzle vegetable oil over the salad, ensuring each piece gets a bit. Repeat the process with the balsamic glaze, adding artistic touches if desired. Any leftover balsamic glaze can be stored in the refrigerator for future use.
  3. Finish by sprinkling salt and freshly ground black pepper on top. This can be served as a lunchtime dish with crusty bread, or accompany it with a beef main dish for dinner.

Notes

  • Use fully ripe and juicy tomatoes to enhance the flavor of the salad.
  • Slice the beef cheese thickly to ensure a satisfying bite in each piece.
  • Be mindful of drizzling vegetable oil lightly to maintain a balanced flavor profile.
