Description

Delightful fluffy and flaky biscuits that evoke cherished childhood memories, perfect for breakfast or any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk, cold

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk the dry ingredients until well mixed.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles a coarse, crumbly texture.
  4. Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the cold milk. Mix gently until just combined; do not overwork the dough.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick. Fold it over itself two to three times to create layers.
  6. With a biscuit cutter, cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each biscuit.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy warm from the oven!

Notes

Use cold ingredients for the best texture. Experiment with variations by adding cheese, herbs, or spices.
