Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (for floral decoration)
  • Buttercream frosting (for decoration)
  • Edible flower decorations (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let them cool completely.
  7. Prepare the buttercream frosting and tint it with food coloring to match the floral theme.
  8. Frost the cooled cupcakes with the buttercream and decorate with edible flowers as desired.
