Ingredients
- 2 filet mignon steaks (6-8 ounces each)
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions

- Allow filet mignon steaks to reach room temperature and season generously with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the filet mignon for 3-4 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish.
- During the last minute of cooking, add dollops of the garlic herb butter on top of the steaks, allowing it to melt.
- Remove the steaks from heat, cover with foil, and let them rest for five minutes before serving.
Notes
Use freshly cracked black pepper and kosher salt for seasoning. Adjust cooking time based on steak thickness for perfect results.
