Description

A beautiful dessert with layers of soft sponge cake and luscious strawberry jelly, perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 cup of milk
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup of strawberry jelly


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the dry ingredients until no flour streaks remain.
  6. Evenly divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Once baked, cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  8. After cooling, spread a layer of strawberry jelly on top of one sponge, place the second sponge on top, and spread more jelly on top.
  9. Decorate with fresh strawberry slices around the edges.

Notes

Ensure jelly is at room temperature before spreading to prevent melting of the sponge. Allow the cakes to cool completely before assembling.
