Description

Delightful and healthy banana bread made with ripe bananas, whole wheat flour, and no added sugar, perfect for any time of the day.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or a sugar-free sweetener
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or sugar-free chocolate chips (optional)
  • 2 eggs


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Mix in the applesauce, honey or sweetener, and eggs until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
