Delicious stuffed mushrooms filled with a savory mixture, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 12 – 16 medium white mushrooms or baby bella mushrooms
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-style)
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 3 tbsp cream cheese (softened)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tbsp dried)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1/4 tsp paprika or crushed red pepper flakes
- Optional topping: additional Parmesan or a sprinkle of mozzarella
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped mushroom stems along with the minced garlic. Sauté for about 3–4 minutes until softened and aromatic.
- Combine the sautéed mushroom stems and garlic with breadcrumbs, shredded Parmesan cheese, softened cream cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Mix until evenly combined.
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the filling, pressing gently to ensure the stuffing stays in place. Optionally, sprinkle a little extra Parmesan on top.
- Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the mushrooms are tender.
- Garnish with extra parsley and serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
Notes
For added depth, experiment with different cheese varieties. Ensure mushroom stems are finely chopped for a balanced flavor.
