  • 2 steak filets (NY strip)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 6 sprigs of thyme

Instructions

  1. Let the steak come to room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  2. Pat the steak dry with paper towels.
  3. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  4. Heat your skillet over medium heat.
  5. Once the pan is hot, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  6. Place the steak in the skillet and cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Flip the steak and cook for another 2 minutes.
  8. Flip the steak again and reduce the heat to low.
  9. Add butter, garlic, and thyme to the skillet.
  10. Baste the steak for an additional 4 minutes.
  11. Remove the steak at your desired doneness. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
