A comforting dish made with frozen meatballs simmered in a rich gravy of beef broth, onion soup mix, and ketchup, perfect for cozy evenings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound frozen meatballs (pre-cooked)
- 2 cups reduced-sodium beef broth
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup cold water
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine the reduced-sodium beef broth, brown gravy mix, and onion soup mix. Stir until well blended.
- Add the frozen meatballs to the mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated with the sauce.
- Pour in the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until flavors meld and sauce thickens.
- About 30 minutes before serving, create a cornstarch slurry by mixing the cornstarch with cold water in a small bowl until smooth. Stir this mixture into the slow cooker to thicken the gravy.
- Serve warm, ensuring each meatball is drenched in the luscious gravy.
Notes
Consider adding garlic powder or thyme for extra flavor. Fresh parsley makes a great garnish.
