Description

A comforting dish of seasoned ground beef patties simmered in rich gravy, perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the patties on both sides.
  3. Remove patties and set aside. In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the gravy until thickened.
  5. Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Serve the Salisbury steak with gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
