Description
A comforting dish of seasoned ground beef patties simmered in rich gravy, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the patties on both sides.
- Remove patties and set aside. In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the gravy until thickened.
- Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Serve the Salisbury steak with gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
