- 12 chocolate sandwich cookies (1 cup, 134g cookie crumbs)
- 2 containers (454g) whipped topping or 1 large container (454g)
- 3 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
Instructions
- To prepare the base, place 24 chocolate sandwich cookies, including their filling, into a food processor or blender and blend until they become fine crumbs.
- Move the cookie crumbs into a medium-sized bowl and combine them with the melted butter.
- Spread this mixture evenly in a 9-inch pie dish, pressing it down firmly on the bottom and up the sides. You can use the bottom of a glass or a measuring cup to ensure the crumbs are well packed.
- Chill the crust in the fridge while you prepare the filling.
- For the filling, grind 12 chocolate sandwich cookies, filling included, into fine crumbs using a food processor or blender.
- Transfer these crumbs to a medium-sized bowl and mix them with one container of whipped topping or half of a larger container.
- Pour the filling into the prepared cookie crust, leveling the top with a spatula.
- Add the remaining whipped topping over the filling, spreading it evenly across the pie.
- Decorate with about 3 crushed cookies, or add whole cookies on top for a more decorative touch.
- Cover the pie and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Cut into slices and enjoy!
Notes
- Consider using salted butter in the crust for a more indulgent flavor profile.
- Experiment with various flavored sandwich cookies to put a unique twist on this timeless dessert.
- Crush the cookies finely to achieve a smoother texture in both the crust and filling.
