A simple yet delicious meatball recipe that brings comfort food to the dinner table, perfect for family or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 preferred)
- 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated onion (or finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)
- Olive oil (if pan-frying)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it.
- In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk, letting it sit for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the egg, minced garlic, grated onion, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add the ground beef and gently mix until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Roll the mixture into 1 ½-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet or plate.
- For baking: Bake for 18–20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- For pan-searing: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, cook meatballs for 8–10 minutes, turning to brown on all sides, and optionally simmer in marinara sauce for another 10 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For best results, use fresh ingredients and avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender. Adjust seasoning as per your taste.
