Description

A simple yet delicious meatball recipe that brings comfort food to the dinner table, perfect for family or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated onion (or finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Olive oil (if pan-frying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk, letting it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the egg, minced garlic, grated onion, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Add the ground beef and gently mix until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  5. Roll the mixture into 1 ½-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet or plate.
  6. For baking: Bake for 18–20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  7. For pan-searing: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, cook meatballs for 8–10 minutes, turning to brown on all sides, and optionally simmer in marinara sauce for another 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender. Adjust seasoning as per your taste.
