A simple and delicious method to roast broccoli, enhancing its natural sweetness and creating a satisfying texture.
Ingredients
- 4 cups broccoli, chopped into small-medium size florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- The juice of 1 lemon – optional for serving
- Grated parmesan cheese – optional for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Wash and chop the broccoli into small-medium florets, then dry them on a towel for 10-15 minutes.
- Toss the dried broccoli florets in a mixing bowl with olive oil or avocado oil.
- In a separate bowl, mix sweet paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then sprinkle over the broccoli and toss to coat.
- Spread the seasoned florets in a single layer on a prepared baking sheet.
- Roast the broccoli for 17-20 minutes, or until golden brown, checking closely.
- Once done, remove from the oven, squeeze lemon juice over the top, and sprinkle with additional sea salt if desired.
Notes
To enhance flavor, consider marinating the broccoli before roasting. For extra crispiness, switch to broil for the last few minutes. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the oven.
