Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add it to the mixture along with the salt.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour until blended.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them generously.
  7. Bake in preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

Notes
