Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
- 3 tbsp (45 g) brown sugar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) water
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp (5 ml) grated fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil, divided
- 75 lbs (800 g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs
Instructions
- Begin by creating the marinade. Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, ginger, and 1 tablespoon of the vegetable oil in a mixing bowl.
- Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Toss the chicken a few times to ensure it is thoroughly coated. Allow the chicken to soak in the marinade for at least 30 minutes or up to a day in the refrigerator, turning occasionally.
- When ready to cook, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken, leaving behind the marinade.
- Cook the chicken for approximately 5-7 minutes per side, or until it is fully cooked and the sauce in the pan reduces to a thin glaze on the chicken.
- Move the chicken to a cutting board and let it sit for around 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Marinate the chicken for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.
- Use any remaining marinade to baste the chicken while cooking for added taste.
- For a spicy twist, sprinkle red pepper flakes or chili powder on the chicken before cooking.
