Description

A comforting dish combining tender broccoli and creamy cheese with flavorful rice, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups broth (chicken or vegetable)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Splash of half and half (optional)
  • Additional salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Bring the broth, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan with a lid.
  2. Stir in the white rice and broccoli, returning to a boil.
  3. Cover with the lid and turn the heat down to low.
  4. Let it simmer for 20 minutes until the rice is cooked through and the broccoli is tender.
  5. Mix in the cheddar cheese until melted, adding half and half if desired for creaminess.
