A comforting dish featuring tender flank steak and vibrant broccoli in a savory sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/2 cup water
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch until smooth. Add sliced flank steak and marinate for 15-30 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and ginger, stirring for a minute until fragrant.
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet, cooking until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove the beef and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add broccoli and water, covering to steam for about 3 minutes.
- Return the beef to the skillet, combining with broccoli. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Serve over cooked rice.
Notes
For added flavor, consider topping with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. Experiment with vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for variety.
