Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just blended.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375°F (190°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
