Description

A moist and rich banana bread infused with cocoa and mini chocolate chips, perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 4 small very ripe bananas (or 3 medium bananas)
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan, dusting it with flour.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until combined.
  4. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
  5. Mix in the salt, sour cream, and mashed bananas until well combined.
  6. Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, mixing until no flour pockets remain.
  7. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe bananas and allow batter to rest for 15 minutes before baking.
