Description
A moist and rich banana bread infused with cocoa and mini chocolate chips, perfect for any time of day.
Ingredients
- 4 small very ripe bananas (or 3 medium bananas)
- 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan, dusting it with flour.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until combined.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
- Mix in the salt, sour cream, and mashed bananas until well combined.
- Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, mixing until no flour pockets remain.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas and allow batter to rest for 15 minutes before baking.
