Description

A light and airy dessert that captures the essence of summer with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and a hint of lemon.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 packet unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water


Instructions

  1. In a blender, puree the strawberries with sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat the gelatin mixture in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds until dissolved, then stir it into the strawberry puree.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the strawberry mixture until well combined.
  6. Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Use chilled tools for whipping cream for a fluffier texture. Consider adding mint or basil for an exciting twist.
