Description

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture.
  7. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.
  8. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.

Notes

Chill the batter for about 30 minutes before baking for a more tender cupcake. Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
