Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup milk

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture.
- Mix until just combined—do not overmix.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
Notes
Chill the batter for about 30 minutes before baking for a more tender cupcake. Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
