Description

Hearty and tender Crockpot French dip sandwiches made with slow-cooked beef roast, served with melted provolone cheese and savory au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 can beef broth (14 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4-6 hoagie rolls
  • Sliced provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced onion at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Season the beef roast with salt and pepper, then place it on top of the onions.
  3. Mix together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl, and pour over the meat.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender.
  5. Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  6. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir in the au jus.
  7. To serve, place some shredded beef on a hoagie roll, top with provolone cheese, and optionally broil until the cheese is melted.
  8. Serve with a small bowl of the au jus for dipping.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider searing the beef roast before slow cooking. Customize seasonings based on preference.
