Description
Hearty and tender Crockpot French dip sandwiches made with slow-cooked beef roast, served with melted provolone cheese and savory au jus for dipping.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 can beef broth (14 oz)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 4-6 hoagie rolls
- Sliced provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the sliced onion at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Season the beef roast with salt and pepper, then place it on top of the onions.
- Mix together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl, and pour over the meat.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
- Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir in the au jus.
- To serve, place some shredded beef on a hoagie roll, top with provolone cheese, and optionally broil until the cheese is melted.
- Serve with a small bowl of the au jus for dipping.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider searing the beef roast before slow cooking. Customize seasonings based on preference.
