Description

A delightful slow-cooked beef dish infused with sweet and savory teriyaki flavors, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 lb beef stew meat
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Green onion and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine white sugar, brown sugar, soy sauce, cider vinegar, minced garlic, ginger paste, and ground black pepper in a slow cooker.
  2. Stir in the beef stew meat, ensuring each piece is well coated with the sauce.
  3. Cook on high for 4–5 hours, allowing time for the flavors to meld and the beef to tenderize.
  4. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Stir this into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  5. Cook for an additional hour, allowing the sauce to refine its texture.
  6. Serve the beef teriyaki over steaming rice and garnish with sliced green onion and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, cook without the lid for the last 30 minutes. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
