Description

Delicious and healthy crispy air-fried tofu balls, packed with flavor and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 block Firm Tofu (Press to remove excess moisture)
  • 1/4 cup Nutritional Yeast (Optional for milder taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (Use tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1/3 cup Cornstarch (Helps achieve crispy texture)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (Can substitute fresh garlic)
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder (Optional for milder taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika (Regular paprika can be used)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt (Adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs (Use gluten-free for gluten-free version)
  • Fresh Herbs (Use parsley or cilantro)
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking Spray or Oil (Ensure crispiness in air fryer)


Instructions

  1. Press the firm tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Crumble the tofu into a bowl and add the nutritional yeast, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are combined, ensuring the tofu absorbs the flavors.
  4. Form small balls from the mixture, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  5. Roll each ball in panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
  6. Place the coated tofu balls into the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch.
  7. Lightly spray the tofu balls with cooking spray or oil.
  8. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 12-15 minutes or until they become golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  9. Remove the tofu balls from the air fryer and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Experiment with seasoning for flavor variations. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
