Ingredients
- 1 block Firm Tofu (Press to remove excess moisture)
- 1/4 cup Nutritional Yeast (Optional for milder taste)
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (Use tamari for gluten-free)
- 1/3 cup Cornstarch (Helps achieve crispy texture)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (Can substitute fresh garlic)
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder (Optional for milder taste)
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika (Regular paprika can be used)
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt (Adjust to taste)
- 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs (Use gluten-free for gluten-free version)
- Fresh Herbs (Use parsley or cilantro)
- 1 tablespoon Cooking Spray or Oil (Ensure crispiness in air fryer)
Instructions
- Press the firm tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Crumble the tofu into a bowl and add the nutritional yeast, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt.
- Mix well until all ingredients are combined, ensuring the tofu absorbs the flavors.
- Form small balls from the mixture, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Roll each ball in panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
- Place the coated tofu balls into the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch.
- Lightly spray the tofu balls with cooking spray or oil.
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 12-15 minutes or until they become golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- Remove the tofu balls from the air fryer and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
