Ground chicken meatballs paired with a creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for a comforting family meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Mix thoroughly until well combined, then shape into meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the meatballs and cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning to brown on all sides.
- Remove the browned meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the sliced mushrooms in the same skillet until softened.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, then add the Italian seasoning and bring to a simmer.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet and cook in the sauce for another 10 minutes until thickened.
Notes
For a lighter version, you can substitute ground turkey for chicken.
