  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) apple juice
  • 4 large golden delicious apples, with peel, cut into 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) wedges
  • 3 tablespoons (45 g) cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 4 tablespoons (50 g) sugar

Instructions

  3. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the apples from the liquid and place them in a dish that can go in the oven.
  4. In a blender, mix the remaining 1/2 cup of apple juice with the cornstarch, apple pie spice, and sugar.
  5. Blend for a few seconds until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Stir this mixture into the hot apple juice in the pan, cooking on medium-high heat while stirring constantly until it starts to bubble and thickens to a smooth consistency.

Notes

  • Use a slotted spoon when transferring the cooked apple wedges to the baking dish to avoid excess liquid.
  • Adjust the sugar amount according to your taste preference as sweetness levels may vary.
  • Enhance the flavor by adding a splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon to the sauce mixture.
