Description
Delightful chocolate chip cookies that evoke nostalgia and bring loved ones together.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until soft and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla until thoroughly combined.
- Add the cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Mix well until fully integrated.
- Gradually beat in the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Gently stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop out 1/3 cup of dough for large cookies or use a medium scoop for regular-sized cookies, placing them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-11 minutes for large cookies or about 8 minutes for regular-sized cookies, or until golden brown on the edges and slightly firm in the middle.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can solidify the fats, leading to thicker cookies. Experiment with adding different types of chocolate chips for a unique flavor.
