Description

Delightful biscuits infused with the flavors of classic French toast, perfect for brunch or a cozy breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Mix together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times. Pat into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
  7. Cut into squares or circles and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

Experiment with spices or add dried fruits for a variation. Serve with fresh fruit or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
