Description

A classic French cookie featuring salted butter for a delightful buttery flavor, perfect for baking with loved ones.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg yolk (optional, for brushing)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough forms.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for about 30 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  7. Cut cookies into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. If desired, brush the tops with egg yolk for a shiny finish.
