Ingredients
- 1 unbaked pie crust (9-inch, 23 cm)
- 3 large eggs

- 2 1/2 cups whole milk (590 ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch (23 cm) pie pan.
- In a large bowl, crack and beat the 3 eggs until smooth.
- Add the granulated sugar and salt to the eggs and mix well.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the whole milk to the egg mixture, stirring continuously.
- Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust.
- Sprinkle the ground nutmeg evenly over the top of the custard.
- Carefully place the pie pan on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 25 to 30 minutes.
