Ingredients
- 2 cups sourdough starter
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk or cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar. Mix well.
- Add flour and salt, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and stretch it onto a greased baking sheet, creating dimples with your fingers.
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the top, allowing it to sit for about 15 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden.
- For the icing, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle the cream cheese icing over the warm focaccia before serving.
