Description

A simple yet delicious overnight French toast bake that fills your home with the warm aroma of cinnamon.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread (preferably brioche or challah)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Butter (for greasing the baking dish)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)


Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and place it evenly in the dish.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) in the morning.
  7. Remove the plastic wrap and bake for 45-55 minutes until the top is golden and set.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve warm with maple syrup.
