A rich and moist chocolate bundt cake made with sour cream, perfect for celebrations and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup chocolate glaze (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in sour cream and vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with boiling water until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Drizzle with chocolate glaze before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder. Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delightful contrast.
